Equans is looking for 2 Financial Accounting Team Leaders to join our team in Newcastle, one role is permanent and the other a 12 month FTC. Both are full-time roles working 37.5 hours per week. Through leadership of a team of Assistant Accountants, the role holder will take ownership of the company balance sheet and provide continuous improvement to centrally run processes. Support the Financial Accounting Team in month end processes and the Business Partners by posting journals, providing reports, analysis, and insights in support of management decision making. What will you deliver? Manage a team of assistant financial accountants and/or apprentices. Ensure month end timetable and financial accounting SLAs are met. Review and process journals submitted to the SSC for processing. Manage the relationship with the business and Finance Business Partners. Challenge existing ways of working and develop a continuous improvement culture. Deliver appropriate training and knowledge to the business to enable them to perform the duties they are responsible for. Instil a customer-facing culture to enable the delivery of best-in-class services to all stakeholders. Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, both within the SSC and within the wider finance community. Provide information on balances and processes to audit where required. Able to manage a highly engaged team who are highly regarded within the UKBU. Able to understand the business issues and be creative and insightful in the information provided to the business. Able to handle complexity both in scope and number of issues and see connections in data, events, trends, etc. Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA). Experience of complex business processes and tools for large data analysis. Good at managing relationships, particularly with the business. Proven record of delivering continuous improvement and driving change. Ability to confidently challenge at senior levels within the organisation. What’s next?
