Consultant in Histopathology

Applications are invited for two new Consultants in Histopathology with a special interest in reporting gastrointestinal pathology, in addition to skin and/or head and neck pathology at Addenbrooke’s Hospital part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Main duties of the job: In order to be considered, applicants must meet the essential criteria outlined in the person specification. You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Histopathology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Leadership is a key requirement of doctors’ professional work and this innovative programme is designed to support Consultants to hone the leadership and management skills they need to succeed at CUH. Working for your organisation: The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice. The department is staffed by a team of over 50 specialist Histopathologists. The successful appointees may also be able to participate in the departmental postmortem rota. The department is fully digitised and successful applicants will be expected to move towards digital reporting as part of the national drive to digitise Histopathology services.
