Working in a fast-paced retail environment, you will apply analytical expertise and commercial acumen to recommend actions based on accurate data, enabling operational improvements and profit growth.

You will provide insight to drive informed decision-making across store performance KPIs, evaluate store trade metrics, assess the impact of store investments, and estate strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse large datasets on store performance to support commercial activities, providing clear recommendations based on key metrics like sales, footfall, and basket size.

Access multiple data sources to deliver a comprehensive view of performance, including financial metrics and customer behaviour.

Bring best-practice analytical processes into the team, supporting the wider team with data-driven insights.

Evaluate store trial results, tracking performance against control groups, measuring impact, and presenting findings to stakeholders.

Analysing investment impacts, such as refits, new openings, and relocations, providing insight into the long-term success of these investments.

Automate key reporting requirements using Power BI to standardize processes and improve data accuracy and efficiency.

Conduct in-depth analysis on store metrics, including trial results, investment performance, and key performance indicators.

Support the budgeting process by ensuring inputs and assumptions are well-documented and communicated across relevant departments.

Work with non-financial stakeholders to build commercial awareness, challenge processes, and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost-effectiveness improvements.

Minimum Requirements

Strong analytical capability using SQL/Power BI.

Ability to build strong relationships across the business.

Excellent Excel skills.

A strong analytical approach.

Strength of character to support and influence senior decision makers.

Used to adapting and dealing with change.

A passion and desire to complete tasks to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and listening skills.

High numerate skills and strong financial acumen.

A positive and proactive attitude to work.

Ability to work calmly under pressure.

High attention to detail.
