We take great pride in providing a professional and caring service to all of our clients regardless of size. Our Southampton office is currently looking for a Bookkeeper and Payroll Administrator. The ideal candidate will preferably have been working in the Payroll or Bookkeeping Department of a professional accountancy practice for at least two years or have other relevant experience. The role will involve the provision of payroll and bookkeeping services to clients. In order to carry out this role effectively, we are looking for someone who has the skills to carry out the following tasks: Knowledge of various payroll software packages including Sage. Supervise all aspects of the preparation of payrolls for clients. Knowledge of Auto Enrolment and pay-rolling benefits in kind. Maintain controls for monthly/quarterly/annual payrolls to ensure no deadlines are missed. Possess good IT skills. Be confident and articulate with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. Maintain up to date and relevant technical tax and VAT knowledge. Have a well-organised and methodical approach to the workload and be able to manage deadlines and prioritise conflicting demands. Value a team working environment as well as being able to work independently with limited guidance. Possess a positive and caring attitude towards your work and your colleagues. Knowledge of various bookkeeping software packages including Quickbooks Online, Xero and Sage. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of various automation software packages including AutoEntry and Dext. Maintain controls for monthly/quarterly bookkeeping and VAT Return controls to ensure no deadlines are missed.
