An exciting opportunity has arisen with a Firm of Accountants with offices in Colchester, for an Audit-Semi Senior to join their friendly and bustling team. The salary on offer is between £28,000 - £38,000 depending on the level of experience. This Firm has made various acquisitions in the past year and is going from strength to strength, gaining an excellent reputation in the region. You will have the opportunity to work with large, listed clients, PIEs, international groups as well as OMBs, SMEs, Charities, and Schools. Meaning you will gain full exposure to a wide range of client sizes and industries. Responsibilities:

As an Audit Semi-Senior, you will… Complete whole sections of the audit pack in accordance with procedures and occasionally on smaller jobs act as senior, delegate to juniors and complete the whole file including notes/queries for Partner/Director/Manager. Complete all substantive tests with minimal supervision, delegate some elements of testing to more junior members of staff where appropriate and design specific tests if appropriate. Prepare clear logical schedules, fully cross-referenced to supporting documentation and other sections of the audit file, ensuring that all amounts agree to lead schedules and the accounts. Requirements:

As an Audit Semi-Senior, you will need… Studying professional stage ACA or ACCA, or AAT qualified and wishing to study professional stage ACA or ACCA – with experience in practice. Previous Audit experience within a Practice, including planning. Basic tax knowledge – how to prepare corporation tax computations. Computer experience – Sage, Excel, Word and ideally CaseWare.
