We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative finance manager to lead the Council’s Finance Team. You will work directly to and with the Council’s Chief Finance Officer (Section 151 Officer) and deputise for them. You will inspire your team to achieve high performance and make a positive contribution to the delivery of our Medium-Term Financial Plan. This key role will give the right candidate the opportunity to get invaluable experience across a range of key areas within the Council. We are looking for someone who is dynamic, resilient, has excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and negotiate across a range of diverse subjects and audiences and work with minimum supervision. You will also need to be able to motivate and work under pressure to achieve tight deadlines and to make a real positive contribution to the overall work of the Council. To deliver this role you will be a fully qualified accountant and have a good in-depth knowledge, understanding and experience of local government finance. You will fully understand the complexities of local government and the changing and challenging environment within which we work and be able to contribute positively to helping the Council successfully deliver its goals.
