Full-time, with a Permanent Opportunity for the right candidate We are looking for a passionate and skilled English Teacher to join a reputable mainstream school in Potters Bar. Role Overview The successful candidate will teach English across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially Key Stage 5, delivering engaging lessons that promote literacy, critical thinking, and a love of literature. You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons, supporting student progress, and contributing to curriculum development within the department. Key Responsibilities: Teach English to students at Key Stages 3, 4, and possibly Key Stage 5 (GCSE and A-Level) Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners Assess, track, and report on student progress in line with school policies Contribute to curriculum development and collaborate with the English department on best practices Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports both academic achievement and student well-being Participate actively in the school’s extracurricular English activities, including book clubs, writing competitions, and other enrichment opportunities Candidate Profile We are seeking a qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a degree in English or a related subject. Experience teaching English at GCSE and A-Level is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will be passionate about literature and language, capable of inspiring students to appreciate the power of written and spoken English.
