We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Care of the Elderly on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful department.

Our client is looking for someone to join their friendly and dynamic team which consists of 14 consultants and where they have established services in movement disorders, syncope, stroke, ortho-geriatrics, and bone health. Furthermore, they have newly established and rapidly developing services in front door frailty and cardiology liaison (PULSE). You'll be joining one of the largest acute Trusts in the country, with a workforce of over 13,000 staff and 100+ different clinical services across 10 sites, serving a population of over 500,000 people. The trust has been rated by the CQC as 'Good' overall and their staff are proud to deliver excellent care to patients, where they are committed to improving patient care, and their world-leading research and innovations are having a positive local and global impact.

The successful appointee will be asked to fulfill various duties, such as: Care of complex, frail elderly patients on their Older Persons Admissions Unit (OPAU) and on one of the core care of the elderly wards. Participation in Clinical Governance & Audit duties. Assistance with admin duties within the department. Support for the appointee's specialist interest. The department has plans to further develop the model of care for frail elderly patients including services in areas such as Stroke, Frailty, Orthogeriatrics, and Parkinson's.
