Senior Power BI & Excel Visualization Report Developer
Onsite (Northbrook, IL)
Long term contract
Responsible for creating compelling and insightful reports and dashboards using Power BI and Excel.
Collaborate closely with business & IT stakeholders to understand their data visualization needs and translate them into effective reporting solutions.
Responsibilities:
Develop interactive and visually appealing reports and dashboards using Power BI and Excel to visualize complex data sets. Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand data visualization needs. Design and implement data models and data transformations to support reporting requirements. Utilize advanced features of Power BI and Excel to create dynamic and interactive visualizations. Optimize report performance and data refresh processes for efficient delivery of insights. Provide expertise and guidance on best practices for data visualization and report design. Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure data integrity and accuracy. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data visualization tools and techniques. Train and mentor junior team members on Power BI and Excel reporting best practices. Experience working with data in Azure Data Lake for data visualization purposes is a plus. Self-starter, can work independently with minimum guidance to get the work done.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Proven experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI and Excel. Experience working with data in the Retail, Mfg, distribution domain is a big plus. Proficiency in SQL and data querying techniques. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus. Certifications in Power BI or related technologies are preferred. Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau is a plus
