As the UK’s leading family-owned Outdoor Power Equipment and Tools distributor, we are looking to appoint a Head of Outdoor to oversee one of our fastest-growing markets. Sales-focused, you will spearhead the strategy and lead the sales teams to achieve ambitious revenue growth targets. You will play a pivotal role in driving business growth, expanding market presence, and fostering strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and manufacturing partners. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in sales leadership and a passion for driving results. Key Accountabilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth and achieve business objectives, leveraging existing channels and customers. Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales and marketing teams to maximise their potential and exceed targets. Identify new business opportunities, markets, and customer segments to expand our reach and market share. Establish and nurture relationships with key suppliers and customers to drive long-term business partnerships. Set pricing to achieve profit targets. Accurate purchasing to achieve company stock targets. Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and consumer behaviour to identify opportunities for innovation and growth. Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure alignment and optimise business performance. Monitor and evaluate sales performance metrics, KPIs, and financial targets and implement corrective actions as needed. Drive a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote brand awareness and networking opportunities. Professional Experience: Proven track record of success in a sales leadership role(s). Degree qualified with ideally 5-10 years of sales management experience in a product supply environment (preferably the outdoor market sector, but not essential). Key Skills Sought: Have demonstrable ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies, resulting in revenue growth and market expansion. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers, customers and stakeholders. Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a focus on driving business outcomes. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Deep understanding of distribution channels and market dynamics. Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities. Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients, attend industry events, and visit production facilities. Personal Attributes: A tenacious and adaptable leader who can deliver at pace. Ability to develop and lead a team. Driven by performance. Ability to demonstrate and challenge convention and lateral thinking in the pursuit of continuous improvement. Highly adaptable.
