Due to success within their sector, they are now seeking a Head of Purchasing to join them on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday. You’ll have the chance to lead and shape the purchasing strategy in a thriving sector, directly contributing to the success of a trusted healthcare provider. As a key member of the senior management team, you’ll inspire and mentor your department, deliver impactful solutions and leave a lasting legacy in a company that values excellence and collaboration. The Role As the Head of Purchasing, you will oversee our client’s procurement function to ensure optimal supplier value, quality and performance. Focusing on delivering financial savings, mitigating supply chain risks and fostering long-term supplier relationships, you will develop and implement robust purchasing strategies and processes to support operational goals. You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate strategic agreements and support other departments such as Engineering and Quality in supplier assessments and sourcing. Additionally, you will: Lead and mentor the purchasing team Analyse procurement costs Prepare budgets Address business challenges to minimise risks and create opportunities About You To be considered as a Head of Purchasing, you will need: Experience as a Sourcing Manager or Procurement Manager Demonstrable experience of leading a purchasing function Experience in strategic purchasing leadership delivering effective purchasing strategies, policies, processes and systems Contract management and supplier experience Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management Proven leadership and management skills Excellent relationship management skills Other organisations may call this role Head of Procurement, Senior Purchasing & Procurement Manager, Purchasing Lead, Supply Chain Lead, or Procurement Lead.
