The role

Carlisle Support Services is looking for a Head Of Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) who will be responsible for developing, leading, and implementing Carlisle Support Services ESG strategy, ensuring the company's operations align with environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and strong governance principles. This role involves driving initiatives across multiple contracts to deliver social value, enhance community engagement, promote responsible business practices, and introduce and drive policy, guidance, and instruction where necessary.

Your core role will include but not be limited to the following activities:

Design and lead Carlisle Support Services' Environment, Social & Governance strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals. Integrate Environment, Social & Governance initiatives into company strategy, risk management, and long-term sustainability planning. Develop and implement policies and frameworks to manage Environment, Social & Governance risks and capture opportunities across various regions and contracts. Develop a robust governance framework to manage Environment, Social & Governance risks and opportunities across the business. Monitor emerging Environment, Social & Governance risks and trends, assessing their potential impact on the business. Lead the implementation of risk mitigation strategies to address Environment, Social & Governance-related risks. Oversee Environment, Social & Governance reporting and disclosures, ensuring transparency and accuracy in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Provide monthly Environment, Social & Governance reports to the HSQE Director and advise on areas of improvement. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure all Environment, Social & Governance policies are effectively implemented and maintained across all contracts. Act as the primary point of contact for all Environment, Social & Governance-related matters, including interactions with regulators and industry associations. Collaborate with procurement and operational teams to embed Environment, Social & Governance and social value targets within contracts, including employment opportunities, community engagement, and local supplier utilization. Define and implement social value initiatives in line with government requirements and client expectations, ensuring social value commitments are met or exceeded across contracts. Track and report on social value outcomes, such as job creation, skills development, and community support, to demonstrate the business's contribution to social wellbeing. Develop social impact measurement frameworks and KPIs to assess the company's contributions to local communities and society. Prepare detailed social value reports for clients, senior management, and stakeholders, showcasing the company's positive social and economic impacts. Engage with government bodies, non-profit organizations, and community groups to build partnerships and support shared social and environmental objectives. Oversee Environment, Social & Governance and social value compliance across all contracts, ensuring commitments are met and best practices are consistently applied. Support professional development and continuous learning for operational teams to enhance Environment, Social & Governance expertise and impact. Drive sustainability initiatives such as carbon footprint reduction, energy efficiency projects, and community engagement programs. Develop metrics and KPIs to measure the success of sustainability initiatives and their impact on business performance.

The ideal candidate

Experience in Environment, Social & Governance, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, or a similar field. Strong knowledge of Environment, Social & Governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and best practices. Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills. Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working with senior executives. Excellent strategic and analytical skills to translate complex Environment, Social & Governance issues into actionable strategies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change within diverse business environments. Self-motivated, independent, and results-oriented with the ability to motivate and engage. Passionate about the delivery of an integrated Environment, Social & Governance business strategy, keen to drive a purposeful culture with values aligned with the business strategy. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Business, Sustainability, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred but not essential.

Location

Either Luton/Liverpool or Manchester / Agile

Successful candidates will be required to provide original documentation for detailed screening and vetting processes. This could include the following: passport / driving licence / utility bill dated in the last 3 months / HMRC letter / original bank statement / original payslip / birth certificate / a valid share code.
