Head of English . The successful candidate will play a key role by leading the English department and ensuring the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning experiences for students. About the School: The school is an comprehensive secondary school with students aged 11-18 graded “Good” by Ofsted in quality of education and personal development this year. They have students from over 35 primary schools, which contributes to the friendly, diverse environment at the school. The school actively looks for ways to enhance its efficiency and benefits from collaborating with others. At Key Stage 5, the school collaborates with another School, where many of their students go on to University with others securing Apprenticeships or employment. The school works hard to make sure that every student graduates with the knowledge and self-assurance necessary to actively participate in their communities and the credentials required to access the next stage of their education. Head of English Responsibilities: Develop and implement a dynamic and engaging curriculum for English that aligns with national standards and educational objectives. Coordinate departmental meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among staff members. Lead the department in designing schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessment strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners. Model exemplary teaching practices and provide guidance and support to colleagues in the department. Lead and manage a team of English teachers, providing professional development opportunities and performance feedback. Lead by example in delivering engaging and effective English lessons that inspire students and promote academic excellence Manage high levels of student attainment through strong leadership and supervision. Head of English Requirements: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a Degree in English . Significant experience teaching English at the secondary level, with a proven track record of successful outcomes. Leadership experience or demonstrated potential to lead a department effectively. Hold an enhanced

Child Workforce DBS , registered on the update service, or be willing to obtain one through GSL Education. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of current trends and research in English education.
