Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Mental Health Advanced Practitioner Social Worker AMHP to work full time based in Enfield.

The salary for this permanent Mental Health Advanced Practitioner Social Worker AMHP job is up to £54,516 per annum.

Main duties:

To undertake complex assessments and care planning and to maintain a reduced caseload of complex cases.

To use skills, knowledge and understanding of AMHP Practice and law to support and deliver in the development of the AMHP Service, and to support development of understanding of such complexities within designated team.

To provide professional guidance and support to Social Work staff supporting the delivery of high-quality customer focussed services that encourage and enable independence and choice and manage risk.

To provide leadership role in best practice development, with specific responsibility within a specific area (e.g. Safeguarding Adults or Children, AMHP Practice, Care Management, Housing etc).

Initiate and/or engage with recommend best practice developments and implement changes in policy/procedures within a specialist area of the Service and participate in practice development by briefing colleagues in new procedures and/or different methods or approaches.

Carry out audits or participate in research to support quality assurance and develop standards as required.

Contribute to the development of action plans or work with existing action plans, producing evidence for the actions.

Establish effective links and working relationships with other key colleagues from different services within and external to the Council and Mental Health NHS Trusts, Acute NHS Trusts, ensuring a professional approach to team working and appropriate services for Service Users and Carers.

To maintain detailed, accurate and concise recordings of the planning and execution of assessments with clearly recorded decision-making processes and outcomes, and produce written reports of decision-making following completion of each assessment and application.

To keep abreast of relevant policy, procedures, local practice, and to maintain a working knowledge of local resources to empower service users and families to make informed choices in reducing risk in future Mental Health Crisis, and/or Hospital admission.

Engage in professional supervision to enhance knowledge and skills development to ensure lawful and quality practice and on-going professional development.

Any other duties appropriate to the post and grade as required.

Requirements of this Mental Health Advanced Practitioner Social Worker AMHP role:

A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.

Understanding of relevant legislation.

Registered or eligible for registration.

Have a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation.
