Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Designated Social Care Officer to work full time based in Bromley, on a fixed term contract (2 years).

The salary for this permanent Designated Social Care Officer job is up to £49,742 per annum.

Main duties:

A strategic role accountable for developing strategies, action plans and processes which support and enable the SEND reforms agenda to become embedded within social care operations and practice.

Contributing to and influencing SEND organisational design, and assisting in the development of 0-25 Children & Young People with Disabilities Service and its policies.

Establishing and leading a network of social care SEND agenda within social care.

Facilitating and overseeing the implementation of the SEND agenda within social care through this network, and gathering insight and intelligence from them and other groups such as the parent carer forum to inform future planning. Align with the Virtual School to promote the education of children with a social worker.

Responsibility for developing social care aspects of the Local Offer that provide relevant advice and information and meet all legislative requirements.

Constructively challenging practice, systems, processes and protocols to enhance SEND reform compliance as part of this collaboration.

Responsibility for leading social care elements of the local area’s preparation to ensure readiness for regulatory inspections, including the self-evaluation.

Contributing to social care workforce development by formulating a programme of blended learning/training relating to the SEND reforms across varied audience profiles and functions.

This role will work across Education and Children’s Social Care, with accountability and scrutiny overseen by the Children, Education and Families Senior Leadership Team.

Attend decision-making panel meetings and other key meetings, acting as the representative for children’s social care and SEND as required.

Requirements of this Designated Social Care Officer:

A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.

Understanding of relevant legislation.

Registered or eligible for registration.
