Thames Water seeks a Senior Process Engineer to lead process design activities for a variety of projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing water and/or wastewater treatment processes within an industry-leading centre of excellence for engineering. The individual will work closely with other engineering and technical departments to ensure that treatment processes meet business and customer expectations. Develop and design water and/or wastewater treatment processes that meet regulatory and internal standards of practice. Collaborate with other engineering and technical departments as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver advanced solutions. Input and continuously improve internal design standards. Provide technical sign-off and assurance during project delivery and handover. Train and mentor team members in treatment processes, procedures, and compliance requirements. Provide technical assistance to operational teams. Contribute to the development of environmentally conscious and sustainable solutions to support Thames Water’s ambitious 2030 net-zero target. Support the establishment of a cohesive, sustainable Engineering structure from graduate to industry experts. What you should bring to the role

Bachelor’s degree or other appropriate technical qualification in Chemical Engineering or related field. Ideally with relevant design experience in the water industry and a track record in developing water and/or wastewater treatment plant solutions (including biosolids). Understanding of the water industry environment to achieve compliance with our engineering regulatory requirements. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and social skills to collaborate with a range of stakeholders. Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects and tasks. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint. A passion for continuous professional development. An active approach to driving diversity within engineering in Thames Water. Recognised by a relevant professional institution as a chartered member, or actively working towards chartership.
