We are looking for a

Senior Laboratory Scientist

to join our

Technical Service

team.

Title: Senior Laboratory Scientist

Salary: £37,121 per annum

Contract: Permanent, full time

Hours: 35 per week (standard Anthony Nolan working hours)

Job Summary

Key responsibilities:

Validate Laboratory Services:

Ensure new and current services in the laboratory comply with UKAS regulations through rigorous validation processes.

Provide Training and Support:

Offer comprehensive training and support to colleagues on laboratory service techniques, ensuring skill development and proficiency.

Process Troubleshooting and Improvement:

Identify and resolve process issues, continuously suggesting and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Perform Techniques to High Standards:

Execute laboratory techniques and responsibilities with precision and high-quality standards.

Ensure Daily Quality and Efficiency:

Lead daily efforts to maintain and improve quality and efficiency within the laboratory.

Author Quality Documentation:

Develop and maintain quality documentation related to role responsibilities, ensuring clarity and compliance.

Use KPIs for Process Evaluation:

Utilize key performance indicators to evaluate processes, identify gaps, and implement improvements.

Support Quality Investigations:

Participate in quality investigations to ensure standards are upheld and maintained.

Accountability in Technical Services Team:

Take responsibility for actions and tasks within the Technical Services Team, ensuring accountability and reliability.

Monitor Laboratory Techniques:

Oversee day-to-day activities of laboratory techniques, ensuring proper execution and compliance with standards.

Essential attributes:

Minimum degree in Life Sciences (further education is welcome)

Experience in an accredited laboratory

Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent project management skills, with a history of successful project execution and oversight

Knowledge of DNA extraction, DNA quantification, ELISA and/or ABO

Experience of troubleshooting and offering solutions to issues
