1-2 days p/wk in Surrey office Pear Talent have a unique opportunity for a Senior Manager, Strategy & M&A with the UK arm of a listed international insurer. This is a fantastic opportunity as no.2 to the head of the team that develop and execute strategy. You’ll work closely with ExCo/Board and play a pivotal role in shaping long-term strategy, identifying growth opportunities that achieve strategic goals and lead corporate development/M&A activities. Key accountabilities:

Corporate Strategy:

Drive the development of the UK’s strategy, partnering with ExCo to develop strategic goals and priorities. Partner across the business to translate strategy into operational plans, helping analyse strategic issues, facilitate workshops and provide informed solutions. Plan, manage and coordinate project teams to execute on key strategic initiatives. Corporate Development/M&A:

Evaluate and analyse growth opportunities that meet strategic and financial objectives, conduct due diligence, and lead negotiations to facilitate strategic acquisitions or partnerships. Analyse and assess market and competitor developments against strategic objectives, providing timely and insightful assessment of emerging trends, threats and opportunities. Market Intelligence:

Maintain relationships with external consultants and investment bankers to provide awareness of competitor and industry developments and assess long-term trends, providing insight to Group Office and business division teams. Required experience:

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and previous experience gained in Financial Services in a similar strategy role (consulting or in-house) with a track record of successful strategy development and execution. Experience in M&A, including valuation, due diligence and negotiation (adv.). Excellent ability to communicate verbally/written and presentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Sound understanding of strategic drivers affecting financial services. Ability to rapidly gain credibility and influence outcomes at an Exec level. First class project management and communication skills.
