The EMEA Compliance Officer functions as a trusted advisor to Bio-Rad workforce members and business partners operating within the region by assisting with the implementation of a compliance and ethics program in alignment with Bio-Rad’s mission, vision, and values. The incumbent will collaborate with other regional compliance officers to revise global policies, develop global training, investigate compliance matters, analyze third-party compliance risks, and implement global systems that facilitate these activities.

Please note that this is a hybrid role: 3 days onsite in our Basel office and 2 days home office opportunity.

How You’ll make an impact:

Function as part of the Corporate Compliance team, identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability, helping to develop and implement strategies to mitigate and manage compliance risks within the European, Middle Eastern, and African regions in coordination with regional and local leadership teams.

Provide advice and support to the business and other key stakeholders operationalize compliance processes and executing within compliance and ethics related requirements.

Assist the business evaluate and engage trustworthy business partners through effective due diligence and monitoring/oversight processes.

Enhance the visibility of compliance and ethics across relevant business units and continue to build awareness and accountability among key stakeholders.

Collaborate with appropriate teams to conduct investigations of allegations pertaining to violations of Bio-Rad’s Code of Business Ethics and Conduct, Bio-Rad policy, or the law.

Stay abreast of relevant ethics and compliance laws, regulations, and industry trends, collaborating with the Global Business Legal organization and other compliance teams, to ensure Bio-Rad operates within the ethical and compliance frameworks mandated by regulatory authorities and our own core values.

Develop and facilitate compliance training to address compliance risk and support employee and third-party awareness of the Bio-Rad’s Code of Business Ethics and Conduct and other compliance policies and procedures.

What You’ll bring:

The local equivalent of the US Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Law, Business, or Accounting, or a related field.

Advanced degree preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, fluent English AND French is required.

5-7 years of relevant work experience in audit, finance, risk management, internal controls or compliance-related roles in a regulated environment.

Basic knowledge of clinical diagnostics or life sciences industry is preferred.

Comprehensive knowledge of laws and regulations applicable anti-corruption and anti-bribery laws, such as the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the U.K. Bribery Act (2010), and relevant industry codes on interactions with healthcare professionals.

Strong analytical skills to proactively identify potential compliance gaps or violations and appropriate corrections and resolutions.

Ability to develop interpersonal relationships and advise and influence at all levels and across business units and functional business areas and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Ability to conduct sensitive and confidential investigations and review and implement corrective action.

Strong commitment to ethics and integrity in all aspects of their work.

Knowledge of and experience advising on laws and regulations in France & Belgium, Italy related to anti-bribery and anti-corruption would be a huge plus.
