We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a Trainee Asbestos Analyst, where you'll receive comprehensive training to obtain the P401 Certificate for the "Identification of Asbestos in Bulk Samples." Once qualified, you will be proficient in conducting both qualitative and quantitative asbestos analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct analysis of soils and bulk materials for asbestos, following the guidelines in HSE publication HSG 248.
Participate in internal and external quality assurance schemes.
Prepare samples for analysis.
Meet daily targets and deadlines set by the Asbestos Manager.
Follow health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Adhere to quality control standards and procedures.
Input data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Perform calibration and equipment checks.
Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace.
Conduct daily quality assurance checks.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
3 GCSEs (grades A-C) or equivalent, including Maths, English, and Science.
Basic computer skills.
Strong attention to detail and precision.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
No prior experience required – we will train you!
What We Offer:
Salary: £23,480.37, increasing to £24,000 upon completion of the P401 qualification.
Location: Consett
Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
