Having achieved a 3.8% increase in our recycling rate this year, we’re looking for someone who can help us reach the next level of success in our Waste, Street Cleansing and Enviro-crime services. This is an exciting time to join us because the Royal Borough is at the early stages of developing a new waste strategy and procuring a portfolio of waste disposal contracts worth multi-million pounds per annum, and you will be at the sharp end of that work. With an excellent knowledge and understanding of waste, street cleansing and enviro-crime legislation, you will have a proven track record of delivering successful projects, procurements and contract management outcomes. As an experienced and effective leader, you will head a team procuring new contracts and lead the management and monitoring of existing contractual arrangements, to ensure the Council gets full value for money from all its contractors. Your excellent data interrogation skills, via the use of Microsoft Office products, are essential. With a flexible outlook, you will be comfortable working on your own initiative to develop and adopt a new Waste Strategy for the Borough, ensuring it remains in line with the Council’s climate emergency agenda and legislation, to achieve its strategic environmental ambitions.
