In the role of Credit Control Manager, you will manage a small team of Credit Controllers and report to the Finance Director. You will work closely with the sales and finance teams to ensure customer credit is managed effectively and cash flow is in good health. This is a new role and a very exciting opportunity for an ambitious candidate who is looking to add value and develop in a hands-on role in an ever-growing business!
Salary and Benefits: Salary £38,000 - £40,000 DOE, continuous career development, 23 days holiday plus bank holidays increasing with service, private healthcare, dental schemes, employee assistance programme. Role Overview: Manage the end-to-end credit process, ensuring timely collections and strengthening customer relationships. Establish credit limits in line with company policy, ensuring they're reviewed routinely. Monitor the company's aged debt, taking a proactive approach where possible and resolving issues as needed. Work closely with the Sales team to ensure they adhere to credit strategy and provide guidance on credit risk where needed. Be the point of contact for any credit-related issues, negotiating and resolving issues as necessary. Liaise with the finance team on cash-flow matters. Review current procedures, identify, and implement ideas to improve process and efficiency. Work with IT and advise on implementing ideas to enhance the effectiveness of the systems. Manage and develop the small Credit Control team, setting objectives and encouraging best practices. Coach and guide the team, monitoring performance and providing support to hit targets and ensure an effective credit control function.
Your Experience as a Credit Control Manager: At least 2 years' experience in a Credit Manager role. Strong understanding of the end-to-end credit process, covering risk, collections, and controls. Excellent Excel skills are essential, with the ability to confidently use VLOOKUPs and pivot tables. Experience using finance systems with a track record in improving systems. Strong communication - written and verbal. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Adaptable and forward-thinking, challenging the status quo. Strong leadership skills, able to get the best from your team.
