Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and observations, providing constructive feedback to support their development. Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning. Incorporate a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles. Organise extracurricular activities related to English literature and language to enhance student engagement. Collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practices and share resources. A degree in English, Education, or a related field is essential. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification is preferred. Strong knowledge of the English language curriculum and assessment methods. Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students. Experience in teaching English at the secondary level is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in lesson planning and record keeping. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. A commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on educational best practices.
