The Intensive Positive Behaviour Support Team (IPBS) is a highly specialist multi-disciplinary team which provides intensive support for children and young people up to the age of 18 years who are at risk of a hospital admission due to risks around behaviours of concern. The team covers a wide geographical area within the North East and North Cumbria (NENC) area, working with Children and Young People’s locality teams in each area, offering both a consultation model and intensive clinical input where necessary. The IPBS Team provides support in three pathways; Children and Young People who have a learning disability, Autistic Children and Young People, and Inpatient (Ferndene). The team works as an integrated multidisciplinary CYPS Specialist team providing intensive Positive Behavioural Support to young people who are displaying complex behavioural presentations of concern. Main duties of the job

The Pathway Manager is responsible for providing safe, effective care and efficient services to service users and their carers. Key aspects of the role include monitoring the performance and quality of the service the team delivers. Responsibilities include: Provide day to day management of the team including recruitment, selection and induction of staff, conducting appraisals, developing individuals, managing performance and absence. Monitor and manage the performance of the service, including engaging the team in performance management, conducting clinical audits, and providing reports to managers as required. Education & Qualification

First Level Registered Nurse RNMH, RMN, RNLD or equivalent qualification e.g. Social Worker, OT, Clinical Psychologist. Knowledge & Experience

Experience of coordinating and managing staff resources. Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team using a community-based approach. Evidence of leadership skills/delegation. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
