Your new company Hays Accountancy & Finance are exclusively partnering with a rapidly growing and successful group to recruit a dynamic and driven Accounts Payable Supervisor. Based in their Cheltenham, Gloucestershire office with remote/office hybrid working, reporting to the Financial Controller. Leading and managing the AP team across various business units, the position will ensure timely and accurate payment of supplier invoices, building relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders, along with process/system improvements and streamlining. Open to Senior Accounts Payable officers looking to take a step-up in their career and take on the management of a small Accounts Payable team. Your new role Your key duties will involve building, leading and mentoring a small accounts payable team, including performance evaluations, providing feedback and skill set development. You will oversee the full cycle of accounts payable processes from invoice verification, coding, approval, and payments. The timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices, expense reporting, payment runs and managing month/year-end closing activities for accounts payable. You will maintain positive relationships with suppliers, negotiate payment terms, manage supplier payment schedules, and conduct supplier account reconciliations. You will prepare and analyse accounts payable reports, monitor/report of key performance indicators for accounts payable, assist with the preparation of cash flow forecasts and budgets related to accounts payable, along with streamlining processes/systems as the group grows further. You will be involved in ad-hoc projects for senior management and managing accounts payable query resolutions while remaining hands-on. What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this Accounts Payable Supervisor role, you will have experience in a similar position or a strong understanding of accounts payable practices and principles. You will have strong MS Excel skills involving data manipulation, pivots and lookups, an ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, with strong attention to detail. You will have excellent organisational and analytical skills, strong communication skills to build internal/external relationships at all levels, and you will not be afraid to challenge processes to improve accounts payable efficiencies, while remaining hands-on and proactive. Experience with process improvement projects would be advantageous, but not essential. What you'll get in return This permanent Accounts Payable Supervisor role offers a salary between £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
