Financial Planning and Reporting Manager – Maternity Cover This is a highly regarded and influential role that is cornerstone to the Council’s continued success in delivering strong financial management. The successful candidate will oversee the core financial planning and reporting function, assisting the Corporate Finance Manager to maintain a corporate overview of all financial activity. You will provide financial information, analysis and advice to key stakeholders, including the Corporate Leadership Team and Members to guide and support key decision making at the highest level. Using your expert knowledge on all budget and financial planning issues, you will support the Corporate Finance Manager and Director of Finance in developing the Council’s budget and medium-term financial strategy, ensuring the Council’s corporate priorities can be achieved. You will lead the development and monitoring of the Council’s treasury management strategy and policy, supporting the management of a sizeable investment portfolio of circa £200m. You will help maintain and promote a culture of strong governance and accountability, with responsibility for the production and publication statutory data such as the Council’s statutory accounts, Annual Governance Statement, and compliance with the Transparency code. You will lead, direct and draw support from a team of up to 15 staff. However, as one of the largest unitary authorities in the country, we have a wider finance team with over 160 dedicated and valued colleagues with a proud track record of delivering strong financial management. Currently, the majority of our corporate finance and business partnering teams attend the workplace for at least one day per week.
