Lecturer in Carpentry & Joinery,

you will deliver high quality and effective teaching and learning to Bournemouth and Poole College students. The post holder will also act as a personal tutor to students. Responsibilities as our Lecturer in Carpentry & Joinery will include: Deliver excellent quality teaching and learning to a range of students Ensure that employability and employer engagement activities are embedded into the programmes Support community/personal enrichment activities (including trips related to learning) Preparation of schemes of learning, lesson plans, assignment schedules, and learning materials for curriculum delivery Actively promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and health and safety in all aspects of college life Marking of students' work with developmental feedback Reporting student progress Participation in curriculum development activities Participation in the recruitment of students and the student admissions process Representation of the College at internal and external events and meetings Participation in all aspects of The College's quality process Internal verification Continually maintain, undertake and meet any relevant CPD requirements Liaison with parents/guardians *The above list of duties is not exhaustive and is subject to change. Lecturer in Carpentry & Joinery, you will need: NVQ level 2 or Craft certificate in Carpentry & Joinery Maths and English at Level 2 equivalent or willing to work towards 1st fix, 2nd fix and cut roof/trusses 5 years minimum industry experience in Carpentry and Joinery Knowledge of current evidence-based practice in field(s) of expertise Communication skills including written and verbal Competent in Microsoft Office applications Excellent organisational skills, able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines Attendance at college events including open evenings outside of normal working hours Benefits will include: You will receive excellent benefits and a competitive salary: 39.5 days annual leave plus bank holidays Up to 4 days leave during the Christmas closure period Free parking at all of our college sites (where spaces are available) Access to Discount Schemes at multiple retailers Enrolment into the Teachers Pension Scheme Excellent support and career development with the help of our Teaching and Learning Coaches and Quality department Golden Hello Up to £3,000 T&Cs apply: Up to £3,000 one-off incentive will be awarded based on achievement of the probation period (based on skills, experience and current salary a decision will be made at offer of the exact amount) Depending on skills set and experiences linked to the job specification Candidate needs to be in post for 18 months following successful completion of probation, otherwise full payback will be required If you feel you are the right candidate for this
