Our client provides engineering services to heavy industry and power companies across the UK. The Electrical Engineer will carry out project and consultancy work, repair, fault find, overhaul and test, but essentially provide a reactive service to support their customers in a professional and technical manner.

Duties:

Diagnose and repair electrical issues in commercial and heavy industrial systems. Fault-finding, rewiring and monitoring, conducting routine maintenance and testing on systems. Rewire faulty systems adhering to building codes and safety requirements. Work independently to identify and address faults and concerns in electrical systems. Install electrical systems in accordance with the 18th edition wiring regulations. Offer professional assessments and advice to customers. Assist and lead planned projects and outages as necessary. Provide exceptional customer service and respond effectively to inquiries. When not in field will be expected to work in the workshop. Be part of the call out roster.

Experience:

Must have completed a recognised Electrical Indentured Apprenticeship. Proven experience in fault finding, repair, installation, and commissioning is essential. Strong customer service skills and effective communication skills are essential. Must be self-motivated, able to work independently as well as in a team. A full driving license is essential (preferably clean). Must be able to pass security clearances. Relevant knowledge, training, and experience in heavy engineering sectors are critical. Familiarity with IEE regulations and possession of City & Guilds 2360, 2382 qualifications, and an inspection and testing certificate (2391) is required. CompEx Training (1-4) is preferred. Experience in the power sector, including prime movers and balance of plant (BOP) would be ideal. Knowledge of high voltage systems, trace heating installation/testing, motor installation/testing, and electrical actuator testing is an asset. Must be physically fit with a flexible and positive outlook. Must be willing to work away from home when necessary.

Benefits:

Salary £34,000 to £47,000 depending on experience. Annual bonus and healthcare. Van, Fuel card, Tools, PPE, Laptop, Phone. Government pension. 28 days holiday plus bank holidays. Uncapped overtime.
