Principal / Associate Structural Engineer

Salary: Up to £45k
Calibre Search is working alongside a growing, privately owned Consultancy in the North East that consistently delivers a variety of schemes throughout the UK. Due to a healthy forward workload, they are currently looking to appoint a Senior level Structural Engineer to come in at either Principal or Associate level to help grow the business and build a team around.
Their experienced team helps to deliver the whole life cycle of a scheme from Feasibility/Appraisal Stage to Planning Stage to Detailed Design Stage through to Construction Completion, ongoing maintenance, and operation. Their current team has vast Engineering and practical experience in delivering schemes in all sectors including Residential, Commercial/Retail, Industrial, Student Accommodation, Sport & Leisure, Education, and Heritage.
As a Principal / Associate Structural Engineer, you will:
Manage projects, providing support, mentoring, and guidance to less experienced colleagues.
Review documents, designs, and drawings completed by the team to ensure consistent high quality and compliance with design standards, industry best practices, contractual obligations, and client expectations.
Act as Technical lead on projects large and small, liaising with and leading other members of the design team to achieve a coordinated design solution that meets the Clients' objectives.
Carry out structural engineering assessments and inspections of new and existing properties in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
Undertake analysis and design using a range of software packages including Tekla Structural Designer and FastTrack Building Designer.
Prepare high-quality technical reports including structural surveys and ensure that quality and consistency of technical output (drawings, reports, etc.) is maintained.
Minimum Requirements:
Possess a minimum of seven years UK industry experience.
Chartered or near Chartered Engineer status with varied experience in all common forms of construction and building types.
Experience in the use of Eurocodes.
Excellent report writing, communication, and numerical skills.
Experience of structural analysis design and software is essential.
A full UK Drivers license is required for this role.
