The Temporary Accommodation Officer is responsible for the management of the Council’s emergency and temporary accommodation portfolio and its residents. About the role:

To provide a high quality, responsive, customer-focused housing management service for homeless clients living in temporary accommodation, ensuring that all homes are well managed, are maintained in a safe and habitable condition. To carry out regular emergency and temporary accommodation occupancy checks and reviews, ensuring that any change in housing and support need is addressed. To support and provide guidance to landlords and accommodation providers to ensure they carry out their repairing obligations. About you:

Detailed working knowledge of the welfare benefits system and its application. Knowledge of the support services available for people who are homeless or in housing need. Knowledge of the provision of tenancy sustainment activities to deliver excellent outcomes in terms of successful tenancies. Experience and knowledge of housing case law, homelessness, tenancy sustainment and good practice. Experience of property management, housing management, supported housing or repairs management.
