Principal Civil/Structural Engineer Surbiton KT5 £60k-£75k A dynamic and creative design consultancy based in Kingston requires an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to join their team. Network Rail experience and detailed design experience are essential. Ideally, you will have experience with buildings, bridges, and other structures. The firm works on a variety of civil/structural infrastructure projects, including substation design for UK Power Networks. The firm is a 30-strong financially robust practice with major top-name clients. You would have the chance to make a real impact on how this business grows going forward. Excellent communication skills are essential as you will be attending meetings, visiting sites, and dealing with clients, as well as hands-on design. Experience in leading projects, mentoring staff, and issuing fee bids is required. Projects include the design of large new footbridges over railways at stations, highways over rail bridges, lineside services and structures, platform extensions, station refurbishments, substation design, HV cable route design, renewable schemes, embankment and cutting works, and depot buildings and structures. You must be experienced in both steel and concrete. There will also be some survey work involved and occasional unsociable hours. The firm is on a framework for remediation works to an area of Network Rail's structural assets, bridge replacement, and bridge refurbishment works.
