About the Role We are seeking a Branch Manager to begin in

February/March . In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day branch operations, driving sales, and meeting performance targets. A solid understanding of the roofing industry and customer base—ranging from roofing contractors to building merchants—is essential. You must be flexible, as you may be required to work in Blackburn or Preston at short notice, and occasionally work independently. The ideal candidate will also be forward-thinking, proactively seeking ways to improve processes and explore new business opportunities during quieter periods. Key Responsibilities Branch Operations : Manage inventory, pricing, and product availability to ensure efficient operations. Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies. Leadership : Provide guidance, support, and motivation to the branch team, fostering a positive and productive working environment. Sales and Profitability : Develop and implement strategies to meet and exceed sales and profitability targets, with clear expectations that these targets will be achieved. Understand the needs of industry-specific customers, including contractors, builders, and merchants, to tailor solutions accordingly. Proactive Improvements : Adopt a forward-thinking mindset during quieter spells to refine processes, build customer relationships, and identify new opportunities. Collaboration : Work closely with senior management to forecast branch performance and set objectives. Adapt to changing requirements, including travel between locations and working independently when necessary. Skills & Experience Industry Knowledge : Proven experience in the roofing, building materials, or construction sector. Familiarity with different customer types (e.g., roofing contractors, property developers, building merchants). Managerial Experience : Demonstrable track record in a supervisory or managerial role, ideally in the aforementioned industries. Systems Knowledge : Strong grasp of processes and systems; familiarity with the ECI Spruce system is advantageous (not mandatory). Leadership Skills : Able to coach, motivate, and develop a diverse team. Communication & Negotiation : Excellent skills in building relationships with customers and stakeholders. Financial Acumen : Sound understanding of financial and budgetary controls. Problem-Solving : Keen attention to detail and initiative to tackle challenges effectively.
