As part of a reputable group known for turn-key solutions, they pride themselves on a dedicated team and a strong client-focused approach.

Role Overview: Seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Manager or Commercial Director (dependent on experience) to lead and grow the commercial division, ensuring the highest standards in project delivery, cost management, and team development.

Key Responsibilities: Lead the commercial side of the business, providing direction and strategic growth. Manage a team of quantity surveyors and commercial staff, ensuring best practices. Strengthen and expand the supply chain and contractor network to meet growth targets. Build and maintain relationships with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams. Implement a commercial management system to streamline growth and cost controls. Collaborate with the finance team to support financial goals and growth targets. Deliver training and development initiatives for team members. Actively participate in new business acquisition and client relationship management. Develop and implement a reporting structure for contract performance tracking. Drive project margin growth through proactive cost management. Oversee tendering processes, ensuring timely and quality submissions. Hold regular project meetings with commercial and contract teams to ensure budget and schedule alignment. Conduct monthly reporting to the Contracts Director and fitout management. Provide quarterly commercial reports to support executive decision-making. Monitor cash flow, forecast accuracy, and ensure timely account reconciliation. Ensure compliance with contractual standards (JCT, NEC, RIAI). Lead client meetings and progress reviews, offering commercial insights to drive project success.

Requirements: Minimum 5 years of experience with a main contractor in the UK or Ireland. Proven experience working with design teams, clients, and cost consultants. Experience in retail, commercial, residential, and fit-out sectors is advantageous. Strong leadership, team-building, and decision-making skills. In-depth understanding of the building industry and project budgeting. Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and industry-specific software. Strong presentation, written, and communication skills. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related field. Willingness to travel across Ireland and the UK as required.
