DMJ are delighted to be partnering with a well-known UK charity in their search for an experienced Governance Officer. Working closely with the Head of Governance & Compliance, this is an exciting opportunity to work in a varied role and to gain greater exposure to governance projects and Board & Committee work. Main Responsibilities:

Work with the Head of Governance & Compliance to ensure the smooth running of the Association’s governance framework, driving continuous development and improvement, ensuring it continues to meet the needs of the organisation. Provide an efficient and effective approach to the governance of Board and Committees, including managing a calendar of Board and Committee business and preparing and distributing a timetable for meeting preparation in line with business and best practice. Responsible for end-to-end secretariat support to the Board and Committees. Work with the Head of Governance & Compliance to manage the planning and running of the Annual General Meeting and Trustee elections. To develop and manage the processes of recruitment and induction for new Trustees and Non-Trustees, ensuring a high rate of retention and successful succession planning. Manage and implement specific projects and programmes of work resulting from governance effectiveness review recommendations. To lead on the development of the Association’s policy review schedule, including the management of progressing monitoring and reporting to the Governance Committee. This role offers a salary of up to £41,000 (depending on candidate experience), and fantastic flexibility around home-based working, with in-person attendance required for Board and Committee meetings.
