The Role We are currently recruiting for a Head of Finance which is a role of substantial responsibility and accountability. Reporting to the VP Finance, this position involves a broad spectrum of operational responsibilities and requires a wide range of knowledge and experience. The Head of Finance is tasked with overseeing the extensive variety of duties undertaken by the finance department and is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of all financial reporting and transactional processing. The Head of Finance will assist the VP Finance in controlling and improving the organisation’s financial processes and overall control environment, as well as developing their team to ensure no single points of failure and good succession planning. Key Responsibilities Responsible for timely and accurate delivery of all financial reporting, both internally (to Draken Group and the investors) and externally (for example, statutory accounts and banks); ensuring customer contract and business performance is fully understood and clearly articulated. Key point of contact for the external financial audit, including day-to-day point of contact for external auditors and other financial advisory firms undertaking project work. Ownership of the monthly management accounts, including preparation of certain sections and review of the full documentation suite. If required, attendance at Senior Leadership Team meetings to present monthly results or deputise for the VP Finance. Ownership of Finance Manual and applicable finance policies, ensuring they are kept up to date and relevant and applied consistently and accurately across the department and within the business. Undertaking regular balance sheet reviews and ensuring key controls are operating effectively. Overall cash management including forecasting; driving the right behaviours regarding cash and efficient use of working capital throughout the organisation. Responsibility for overseeing all tax compliance, ensuring on-time filing. Leading the technical accounting review of new contracts, other new activities, and in response to any applicable accounting standard changes. Implementing any required changes to policies and procedures to ensure compliance, including educating the finance team and wider business where necessary. Driving change across the Finance Department to improve and sustain the control environment and efficiency of processes. Minimum Qualifications ACA or ACCA qualified with at least five years post qualification experience. Experience of reporting to Senior Leadership / Board / Shareholders, both in writing and orally; able to present and communicate financial information to both Finance and non-Finance colleagues. Experience of working with external third-parties (external audit, financial advisory firms and systems providers). Proven ability to manage a team, driving development and team engagement. Ability to understand complex, multi-faceted scenarios from a financial perspective. Prepared to work flexibly to achieve deadlines and multi-task, re-adjusting priorities and delivering accordingly whilst demonstrating a strong teamwork ethic. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams and to influence others at all levels of the organisation, applying healthy and vigorous challenge where appropriate. Able to build excellent working relationships with colleagues and external parties alike.
