Job Role: Senior Mechanical Engineer Location: Derby / Coventry Salary: Competitive, with excellent benefits package Our client, a leading water company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team and play a pivotal role in delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions for AMP8 clean and wastewater projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly impactful industry, contributing to the future of water infrastructure & non-infrastructure while overseeing the engineering aspect of major projects. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the mechanical engineering aspects of AMP8 clean and wastewater projects, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective solutions. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including civil, electrical, and process engineers, consultants, and contractors. Oversee mechanical design development from concept through to delivery, ensuring all designs meet client specifications and regulatory requirements. Provide technical expertise in mechanical engineering, addressing design and implementation challenges during the project lifecycle. Ensure all mechanical designs are aligned with industry best practices, health and safety standards, and environmental sustainability goals. Manage the technical aspects of project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. Develop and mentor junior mechanical engineers, promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team. Maintain strong communication with internal stakeholders, external contractors, and regulatory bodies. Key Requirements: A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline. Ideally, Chartered status with a recognized professional institution (e.g., IMechE). Extensive experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on clean and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects. A proven track record of leading mechanical engineering teams and delivering complex projects successfully. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and quality. Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices.
