Scalable Systems Team Lead
for a Team Leader role.

Gosport, Hampshire Type:
permanent, hybrid role with weekly site presence expected Salary:
£65-75,000
plus benefits depending on experience.
Requirements: Due to the nature of the project requirements, we are only able to consider
UK Passport Holders.
Your responsibilities will include:
Configuring and optimising Linux-based HPC environments for maximum performance, reliability and implementation of security best practices to safeguard both HPC systems and data. Monitoring system performance and resource utilisation, proactively identifying and addressing any potential issues. Working as an experienced IT Engineer improving business delivery and performing a variety of project, bid, investment tasks and lifecycle planning. Deploying and maintaining high-performance computing capabilities to support engineering delivery and working in collaboration with software and IT teams to enhance computing capability. Mentoring and upskilling junior team members providing redundancy in skills and career development. Essential experience of the Scalable Systems Team Leader: Experienced
working with virtual desktop environments
and High-performance computing environments. Strong
understanding of Linux
operating and administration systems. Extensive
experience with configuration and optimisation of queue systems
assisting end users to develop suitable job scripts. Proven
experience with Low Latency or RDMA
network technologies and
Linux scripting languages in HPC environments. The
ability to lead a team
whilst implementing decisions and strategies and conveying technical concepts to non-technical users. A good
understanding of common HPC programming languages
to a level to assist in debugging code issues. Familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix
or other virtualised desktop systems. Essential qualifications for the Scalable Systems Team Leader: A Technical Degree
(Computer Science, Maths, Engineering or equivalent field) or relevant technical experience.
