Senior Quantity Surveyor - Building Envelope & Cladding Contractor Location: Commutable to office in Portsmouth Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 (Dependent on Experience) + Benefits Company: We are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading building envelope and cladding specialist. If you have 5+ years of experience in construction, particularly in materials management, cost control, and contract administration, this is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile, prestigious projects in Central London.

Our client is a recognised leader in the façade and cladding sector, delivering complex and cutting-edge building envelope solutions. As they continue to grow and expand, they are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage the cost aspects of their projects and ensure financial control from start to finish. Key Responsibilities:

Cost Management:

Oversee cost planning, control, and management throughout the lifecycle of cladding and building envelope projects. Ensure that budgets are adhered to and any changes or variations are managed effectively. Materials Understanding:

Manage the procurement and valuation of materials, ensuring the right products are specified and sourced in line with project requirements and budget constraints. Contractual Knowledge:

Use your in-depth understanding of construction contracts to manage client and supplier agreements, monitor terms, and ensure compliance with project requirements. Project Monitoring:

Prepare and manage project cost reports, including PTCs (Project Costings), CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations), and applications for payment, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to clients and stakeholders. Software Proficiency:

Use industry-standard software to track costs, budgets, and project progress, including Microsoft Excel, and specialist quantity surveying software. Problem Solving:

Identify cost discrepancies, contractual issues, or any project-related challenges and provide practical solutions to ensure the project stays within budget and on schedule. Profitability Impact:

Assess and report on the financial health of each project, highlighting risks to profitability and recommending corrective actions where necessary. Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that cost control processes are in place and any financial or contractual issues are resolved promptly. Key Skills & Experience Required:

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years' experience in construction, preferably with a focus on building envelope or cladding projects but not essential. Materials Understanding:

Strong knowledge of construction materials, particularly in the context of cladding and building envelope systems, to support accurate cost estimation and procurement. Cost & Contract Management:

Proven experience in managing project budgets, understanding contractual terms, and producing cost reports (PTCs, CVRs, etc.) to track project financial performance. Software Proficiency:

Experience using Microsoft Excel and other software platforms (e.g., CostX, Procore, or similar) to manage cost data, prepare reports, and monitor project performance. Attention to Detail:

High attention to detail in monitoring costs, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring the accuracy of financial and contractual data. Communication & Project Management Skills:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with project teams, clients, and contractors. Strong project management skills are also essential to ensure cost control processes are adhered to. Problem-Solving:

Ability to resolve complex financial and contractual issues, ensuring that solutions are practical and align with project goals. Location:
