Senior Civil Engineer Bury St Edmunds £55k-£60k plus benefits We are working with a respected developer, known for crafting high-quality homes that enjoy regional and national recognition. They are expanding the technical team and would like to bring in a Senior Engineer to oversee various engineering disciplines across multiple residential projects. Responsibilities: Conducting site appraisals for new land acquisitions, including analysing levels, drainage strategies Offering expert advice on utilities, highways requirements, and planning obligations to support cost analysis. Managing third-party consultants to develop comprehensive tender packages for infrastructure design (civil/structural engineering and utilities). Collaborating with legal teams and local authorities to secure relevant Section Agreements for the adoption of new highways, drainage, and utility assets. Providing engineering advice and resolving issues arising during the construction phase. Coordinating the final inspection, vesting, and adoption of infrastructure assets with the relevant parties. Requirements: A minimum of HNC/HND qualification in an engineering-related discipline with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience. Experience in residential housing, either within a development company or private practice, and a solid understanding of highways, drainage, and utilities. Strong negotiation skills and experience working with external consultants, local authorities, and flood authorities. A collaborative team player with excellent coordination abilities. Highly organized with excellent time management skills to meet project deadlines. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel. Experience with design software such as AutoCAD and MicroDrainage is desirable but not essential. You will be a confident and competent engineer, willing to represent the company at public events, so first class communication skills are vital.
