Job Description

This is a fixed term post until 31/10/2025. West Dunbartonshire Council's Regulatory and Regeneration service is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to undertake the role of Information Governance Officer. As Information Governance Officer you will play a key role in helping make sure that the Council complies with its legislative duties around record management, freedom of information, and data protection. You will also provide support and be part of the core election team for all elections. In particular, you will: oversee and review the Council's Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 responsibilities in line with legislative requirements; provide guidance and support to all service areas in relation to information governance matters; assist the Records Management Officer with relevant training programs; co-ordinate and administer freedom of information requests; assist the Records Management Officer with data protection and records management responsibilities.
