About the Role: We have an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer with our Quality team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the improvement in quality of supplied parts, technical development of selected suppliers, and implementation of product control plans. Key Accountabilities (Duties): Providing technical support in the development of our suppliers, generating and implementing control plans and aligning product approval methodologies to ensure the rapid processing of compliant products. Responsible for the maintenance, update, and communication (internally and externally) of supply Quality KPI’s while maintaining system integrity with colleagues. Providing a Quality function in the auditing, approval, and performance assessment of existing and new suppliers. Driving the supply base for rapid, robust responses to issue management, utilising 8D principles as a basis for effective problem resolution and able to facilitate the resolution of complex, cross-functional issues. Knowledge of working within Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 or similar), risk analysis, and the use of ERP systems (SAP) would be beneficial. Ability to build credible working relationships internally with the purchasing and engineering teams and externally with a varying range of suppliers. Collaborate with the engineering teams to develop product specifications aligned with process capability. Candidate Profile Essential: We are looking for a self-motivated, team player that is passionate about working for our team and has a winning mindset. You should have good communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships. The ideal candidate will possess an engineering degree, be able to interpret engineering drawing requirements (GD&T), have experience in the manufacture of low volume, high accuracy, high complexity products, and have exposure to typical Quality tools. Our environment deals with frequent changes in product specification, low volume manufacture to very tight timelines, and intense periods of associated activity throughout the year. You must be willing to travel for short periods at inconvenient times and continue to demonstrate a strong work ethic when away from home.
