This is a phenomenal opportunity for an explosives expert to join our Manufacturing team within the live build facility at Henlow for someone able to demonstrate knowledge of explosives safety. Job Title : Explosives Safety and Compliance Manager Salary : Circa £52,000 Location : Henlow Dynamic (hybrid) working : 4 days per week on-site due to workload classification. Security Clearance : British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team. The opportunity: We are looking to recruit an explosives expert to ensure compliance with the company's safe systems of work and controls for the Processing, Transport, Storage and Handling of Ordnance Munitions and Explosives (OME) at Live Build Facilities within MBDA UK. Supporting the Explosives Licensing activities for MBDA UK and maintaining compliance with all relevant statutory regulations, and in particular compliance with the COMAH regulation to ensure continued production capability of MBDA UK products. To assist in the development and maintenance of Safe systems of work, processes and controls for all OME. the management and control of explosive items/stock on site. NEQ, Compatibility, Site Physical Capacity, etc. Support site COMAH compliance activities. In conjunction with the

Manufacturing Manager Henlow , maintain the Henlow risk assessments portfolio. Maintain a level of knowledge and understanding of explosive regulations and stay up to date with the latest revisions and changes. Maintain a level of knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety regulations and best practice, remaining current with the latest revisions and changes. Support site and process improvements from an explosives safety perspective and general safety perspective. Training of personnel on matters of explosive safety (Tool Box Talks, information campaigns) and the relevant regulations. Review health and safety audit and test reports as required and monitor any required remedial activity. Provide suitable cover in the event of the Explosives Safety Authority Manufacturing Manager is unavailable. Key deliverables: HSE Audits completed satisfactorily. Independent audit program developed. General risk assessments reviewed and updated as needed. Maintenance issues identified to senior management as required. Site issues resolved quickly. COMAH statutory requirements met. What we're looking for from you: Degree qualified or equivalent experience in an Explosives related field, with relevant experience in the safe processing of OME. Demonstrable knowledge of general Health and Safety legislation. Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of explosives licensing legislation, and related health and safety regulations. Practical experience and expertise in the control and handling of OME. A good understanding of Project Management. Good negotiating and influencing skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
