We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and highly adaptable individual to supervise our reception team in the Immunology laboratory at Southampton General Hospital. The main duties of the role include supporting the Biomedical Scientists in the laboratory by booking in samples, sending away samples to other laboratories, organizing reception staff to perform duties within reception, filing reports, receiving supplies, and performing some assays. Applicants must be able to demonstrate an organized and thorough approach to their work. Previous NHS laboratory experience is an advantage, although full training for the role will be provided. Qualifications

Essential:

GCSE in Maths and English at grade A - C/4-9 or alternatively Functional Skills in Maths and English at Level 2. Experience

Practical experience in an NHS laboratory Ability to work as part of a team and promote teamwork Being flexible and adaptable at work in order to meet competing priorities Trust Values

Patients First Always Improving Working Together Qualifications / training required

A level or equivalent in at least two from Maths, English, and Science at level A to C ECDL or equivalent knowledge of computers Previous knowledge of hospital IT systems Completion of an internal multidisciplinary laboratory training course Previous or relevant experience necessary

Previous experience in laboratory work Knowledge of genomic processes Previous experience in an NHS environment Previous experience of performing genomic procedures Previous experience in a diagnostic medical laboratory Aptitudes and skills required
