Senior Buyer
Salary: c£28,000.00 per annum
Location: Barnsley
Requirements:
Experience in procurement and supply-chain, ideally from the manufacturing or engineering sector.
Full UK driving licence.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with 1 hour for lunch – this is a full-time office-based position.

Role Overview:
We are looking for a candidate with the right personal qualities and experience in a similar role. You will focus on supply-chain management, building positive relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing imports.
Duties of the Senior Buyer:
Attending supplier review meetings via Microsoft Teams.
Carrying out supplier visits and ensuring positive relationships are built.
Being actively involved in the Continual Improvement Programme.
Negotiating new contracts and price increases.
Implementing supplier rebate agreements.
Managing departmental KPIs and reporting directly to the MD.
Dealing with far-East and European shipping and delivery schedules.
Maintaining stock levels.
Creating the daily stock shortage report.
Processing Purchase Orders.
Managing order confirmations.
Updating Purchase Order dates on the in-house system.
Checking delivery supplier notes and matching to invoices.
Managing supplier order books.
Dealing with purchase order and invoice queries.
Managing unconfirmed/late orders and overseeing supplier on-time delivery.
Sending supplier requests for quotations.
Managing key supplier consignment stock.
Looking at new suppliers and undertaking re-sourcing projects.
Working on cost-down initiatives.
Managing imports and freight companies.
To fulfil the role of Senior Buyer, you must:
Have experience in procurement and supply chain, ideally from the manufacturing or engineering sectors.
Be confident and enjoy dealing with suppliers over the phone.
Have strong relationship-building skills.
Have good attention to detail.
Have experience in using procurement systems.
Additional advantageous attributes:
Ideally CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) trained.
Wide-ranging international procurement experience, particularly with the Far-East.
A good understanding of incoterms.
Ideally experienced in reading and understanding drawings.
