Homes for Ukraine Project Officer
37 hours per week, £30,559 to £34,314 per annum
Fixed term contract to 31/3/26 – Secondment opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to play your part in supporting Ukrainian nationals and those who have given them a home, as part of our Homes for Ukraine team.
You will be responsible for keeping Homes for Ukraine guest and sponsor records up to date. You will produce accurate data reports and will liaise with Worcestershire County Council and UK government departments.
You will develop and lead a range of projects to support Ukrainian guests including managing our guest resettlement support package and overseeing the welfare assessment process including the allocation of cases.
You will also be the first point of contact for enquiries about the Homes for Ukraine Scheme and will provide appropriate support, information and advice to customers, colleagues and partner agencies.
We are looking for a well-organised, motivated and adaptable person with proven customer and communication skills for this role. You must have good IT skills, enjoy working with people and data, have an eye for detail and the ability to deal with challenging issues with tact and sensitivity.
About you:
A good level of numeracy and literacy skills
Excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus
Proven organisational and project management skills
Experience in customer service, problem solving and handling difficult situations with sensitivity, diplomacy and tact
An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and sensitivity when working with individuals and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Good ICT skills and experience of managing databases including handling personal data and accurate record keeping
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to handle and manage large quantities of data and information
Previous experience in administration e.g. maintaining records, booking appointments, supporting meetings, report writing and preparing data reports
A sound understanding of the importance of safeguarding children and adults’ procedures
An understanding of the context of the Homes for Ukraine Scheme and experiences of guests from Ukraine
Experience of working with people from diverse backgrounds and knowledge of equality and inclusion
Experience of working with families or children and young people
Flexibility to work within different environments and the ability to adapt to changing priorities
A Driving licence would be preferable for this role
