An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Central Area Occupational Therapy Team. You will be working within a discharge to recover and assess (D2RA) service which aims to facilitate early discharge from hospital and prevent admission to hospital. You will be working with patients with a wide variety of diagnoses. This post is 9.38 hours per week on a permanent basis.

The team comprises of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and generic therapy assistants and you will be working closely with both hospital and community multidisciplinary teams.

You will have excellent organisation and time management skills and be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of this developing integrated service.

Main duties of the job This post offers an opportunity to develop both clinical and managerial skills. Significant current experience of working within acute/community services is essential. You will play a critical role in the delivery of this service, ensuring person centred care is delivered in a timely manner, to patients in their own homes and within the emergency quadrant (EQ). The role requires the successful applicant to work flexibly within the EQ therapy team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for some of the day-to-day management and supervision of junior staff within the department. Formal supervision and completion of annual appraisals with junior staff may also be required. In addition, the post holder will contribute to the wider Occupational Therapy service i.e. audits, service developments, attending meetings.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
