Are you an experienced Clinical Pharmacist with Genitourinary Medicine (GUM) and HIV experience? Have you reached specialist level but would like a new challenge, maybe in a Community Trust setting? We are seeking a Band 7 Specialist Pharmacist GUM/HIV for 18.75 hours per week for our integrated Contraception and Sexual Health (iCaSH) service, with the potential to progress to a Band 8A post. Main duties of the job
Develop a specialist knowledge of GUM/HIV, participating in the provision of an advanced level clinical pharmacy service to the iCaSH service. Support promotion of evidence-based medicines, medicines optimisation and high and consistent standards in medicines management. Support provision of the HIV dispensing service through delivery of training and clinical input. Participate as a specialist HIV pharmacist in the multidisciplinary team (MDT). Respond to medicines information enquiries. Support development and implementation of pharmaceutical care plans in partnership with the patient and MDT, including prescribing, where applicable. Contribute to the development and implementation of medicines-related guidelines, SOPs and policies in line with best practice and current medicines legislation to promote good governance consistent standards of practice regarding medicines management. Participate in the development and updating of identified speciality-related PGDs, and support training and regular audit where medicines are administered and supplied under PGD. Support the maintenance, and review, of the iCaSH Formulary and the managed entry of new medicines in iCaSH, ensuring cost-efficacy and appropriate place in therapy, using evidence-based medicine and national and/or local guidance. Monitor, audit and advise on standards of medicines management, including safe and secure systems for supply, storage and handling of medicines. Person Specification
Qualifications
Vocational Master's Degree in Pharmacy (completion of pre-registration training) Registered as a practicing pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy Practice or equivalent relevant postgraduate qualification or experience Experience
Broad pharmaceutical knowledge and experience as a clinical pharmacist practitioner Knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to pharmacy and use of medicines Experience of pharmaceutical care of patients living with HIV Skills
Effective verbal communication and presentation skills Effective written communication, including report-writing skills Ability to manage change in prescribing choices Problem-solving and risk assessment skills Disclosure and Barring Service Check
