About the role of Care Manager Team Leader

As a care manager, you will be focused on the day-to-day management of teams of directly employed support workers for a small number of clients.

Your role will also include supporting the Clinical Lead Nurse and Registered Manager in the day-to-day management of the service. The Team Leader element will require you to complete and support the team in managing their governance targets.

You will need to demonstrate clear and effective care management abilities and have exceptional organisational skills.

The role would see you induct new Care Managers and supervise them through their probationary period, completing three supervisions per year with each care manager and reporting any concerns to the Clinical Lead Nurse.

Roles and Responsibilities

Support new Care Managers to complete their skills log during their probationary period.

Deputise for the Clinical Lead in non-clinical areas during periods of leave.

Complete weekly clinical case reviews in the absence of the Clinical Lead Nurse and conduct reviews with care managers where there are no clinical needs indicated, providing feedback to the Clinical Lead Nurse weekly.

Provide weekly HR updates to the Registered Manager.

Collate monthly care managers' checklists and report to the Clinical Lead.

Complete case audits for all stand-alone case management cases and report outcomes to the Clinical Lead Nurse.

Support in the preparation of monthly MAR charts, understanding that this is a safety-critical activity essential to the safe delivery of care.

Support in the interview and recruitment process of care managers as required.

Lead on Care Managers meetings on an as-required basis.

Undertake a monthly review of care managers' communication logs and provide feedback to the Clinical Lead Nurse.

Be willing to travel to locations nationwide to suit the needs of the business.

Attend networking and CPD events as requested.

Skills and Experience

Demonstrable experience in managing and leading a wide range of meetings, including safeguarding reviews and external meetings with families/customers and clients.

A robust understanding of quality assurance and governance, supporting the formulation and implementation of processes and frameworks.

Level 4 trained in Safeguarding.

Good understanding of IT systems; knowledge and understanding of time recording is desirable but not essential.

At least 2 years of experience working in a management role within the care sector.
