The Carers Centre is a growing and forward-thinking organisation with ambition to support an increasing number of children, young people and adults who provide unpaid care for a family member or friend due to disability, illness, addiction, or frailty. Thanks to funding from The Robertson Trust, we currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Young Carers Project as a Young Adult Carer Support Worker. As a Young Adult Carer (YAC) Support Worker, you will achieve positive outcomes for young adult carers by early identification of young adult carers and the preparation of a Young Carer Statement or Adult Carer Support Plan. You will use the support required identified by the YAC to ensure they are protected from undertaking caring responsibilities and tasks which are inappropriate, having regard to their age and maturity. You will support young adult carers to access the Carers Centre and receive the information and support they need to allow them to care with confidence and in good health, empowering them to have a life of their own outside of caring. Responsibilities:

Work directly with young adult carers, providing personalised information and support, referring to other agencies where appropriate. Carry out initial assessments to ascertain the needs of the young adult carer and offer/complete a Young Carer Statement or Adult Carer Support Plan. Develop and support new and existing young adult carer support groups at times accessible to young adult carers. Organise and staff one-off events, including occasional residential breaks that can take place on weekends. Develop and distribute information for young adult carers and information concerning young adult carers. Identify and access funding for young adult carer activities and for individual young adult carers. This role requires some evening and occasional weekend work. A full clean UK driving licence is essential, as is access to a car. This role requires PVG scheme membership. We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate person who will champion the rights of young adult carers. You will be self-motivated, able to demonstrate the ability to use your own initiative, and have a commitment to teamwork. If you think you have the necessary skills and would like to join our dedicated team to help make a positive difference to the lives of local young adult carers, please read the supporting documents and apply now! Closing date for applications is

Monday 13th January 2025 . Interview date TBC. **Please read the role profile carefully before applying for this role**
