We are a busy Technical Services Unit within the Pharmacy Department at York Hospital. Our aseptic services unit is a specialised service preparing bespoke chemotherapy, Monoclonal Antibodies as well as some Parenteral Nutrition products and a small range of other IV products. Suitable candidates would be required to work in a cleanroom environment where duties are interesting and varied. Duties range from cleaning, maintaining and monitoring of the cleanroom environment and equipment and stock management of drugs and consumables. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a service that works very hard behind the scenes to ensure that patients receive the very best treatment. The team are a friendly, hardworking bunch who are proud in the knowledge that they make a difference to improving the lives of these patients. Accuracy and attention to detail is essential for this position as is a passion for patient care, quality and improvement. Full training will be provided and you will be given the opportunity to undertake further qualifications. Applicants must also hold GCSE's in maths and English language (or equivalent) at Grades C/4 or above. This is a fulfilling role in itself but it is also a great stepping stone into Pharmacy with many different opportunities for career development. Main duties of the job

Participate in the decontamination and disinfection of the aseptic unit. Undertake environmental monitoring duties to ensure that the environment remains in a controlled state. Perform administration tasks as well as stock management activities such as stock checks, receipt of stock, and expiry date checks. We are looking for a conscientious individual who will take a methodical approach to a task and who appreciates the importance of following procedures. Experience & Knowledge Required

Working within a pharmacy or healthcare environment. Education, Qualifications and Training

Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent. Maths and English at C or above - or equivalent qualification. You must have proof of qualifications. Skills & Attributes

Able to use a range of computer programmes relevant to the post. Aptitude & Personal Qualities

Flexible to changing work routines. Work as part of a team. Good communication & interpersonal skills. Able to handle moderate loads. Able to use own judgement to prioritise tasks.
